Germanic Studies

The LGP project welcomes the expertise of scholars from Germanic studies.  This expertise is specifically required in connection with issues of translation, hermeneutics, publication, and/or reception of German philosophical texts from the period 1860-1950 in either of the two languages of the LGP project, English and German.

Topics to be addressed by participants include: The use of literary, scientific, and religious rhetorics by Late German speaking philosophers; Publishing German speaking philosophers of the period 1860-1950: the commercial and academic editorial advantages and disadvantages; The history of commercial and academic relations between English and German speaking publishers in the period 1860-1950; Analyses of current collaboration among archives of Jewish and German speaking philosophers of the period 1860-1950.
